Holly Cottage

Holly Cottage is in Cockermouth town. It's a terrace house, about five minutes walk from the main street. You can leave the car on the driveway if you want.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one with twin beds. One bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It was done up in 2021, so it's clean and everything works. The stairs are normal house stairs.

The living room is a decent size. There's a wood burner. We leave some wood to get you started. The kitchen has what you need. Out the back there's a little terrace. It's got a cover and a patio heater, so you can sit out there even if it's a bit chilly. It gets the sun in the afternoon.

The nearest pub is about a three minute walk. It's by the river. From there, you're on the main street. There are a few good places to eat: pubs, an Italian, coffee shops. You probably won't need to drive for dinner.

For days out, Bassenthwaite Lake is about a 15 minute drive. Buttermere and Crummock Water are about 20 minutes. Keswick is roughly 20 minutes by car. If you fancy the coast, the beaches at Allonby and Seascale are about half an hour away. Whinlatter Forest is good for walking or cycling.

In the house you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's on-site parking. No pets, sorry.

If you're looking for things to do, the Lake District National Park website has walking routes. For local history, Wordsworth House is just down the road.
