Hedgehog Meadows
Hedgehog Meadows is a timber chalet in Waverton. It's behind our house, but it's all yours while you're here. It's single-storey, so everything's on one level. It looks out over its own little paddock towards the fells. It's very quiet.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms and has one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. It's not luxurious, but it's got everything you need. We can take up to two dogs, as long as they're kept off the furniture.
The location is good if you want to see a few different things without driving for hours. You're between the Solway Coast and the North Western edge of the Lake District. Cockermouth and Keswick are about twenty-five minutes in the car one way, Carlisle is about the same the other. The Southern Lakes, like Windermere, are a bit further, maybe an hour and a half if you take the motorway.
The Solway Coast is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's good for walks and spotting birds. Bowness-on-Solway is nice for an evening stroll, especially if you want to watch the sunset. Hadrian's Wall isn't far either. The English Heritage site has information about the wall forts.
In the chalet you've got a washing machine, TV, and a garden with a BBQ. There's parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's bicycle storage as well.
There's a bus stop opposite the end of the drive if you need it. The nearest village with a shop is a few miles away, so you'll want a car really.
