Kestrel Cabin

Kestrel Cabin is a wooden lodge in Brocklebank. It's on a small working farm with a few other holiday lets and some camping pitches. The views from up here are good. You can see across the fields to the Solway Coast and over to Scotland on a clear day.

It sleeps four, but it's one open plan room. There's a double bed and a sofa bed in the living area. The shower room is modern and separate. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and comfortable. It's not a luxury hotel.

The best bits are probably the deck outside and the hot tub. The multi-fuel stove is good for cooler evenings. You're on the edge of the Lake District National Park, but the northern part which is quieter. The fells around here are good for walking without the crowds. Caldbeck village is a few minutes drive for a pub.

Carlisle is about twenty minutes away for shops or a day out. Hadrian's Wall is within half an hour. The Solway Coast is good for a different sort of walk, along the beaches.

For facilities, you've got the hot tub, the stove, a washing machine, and parking right outside. There's an electric vehicle charger. Bedding and towels are included. Up to three dogs are allowed. There's a small shop on the farm if you need basics.
