Kestrel Cabin

Kestrel Cabin is in Brocklebank, Cumbria. It's right on the edge of the Lake District, up north. The views are good. You can see out to the Solway Coast and across to Scotland from the land.

It sleeps four, but it's all in one room really. There's one big open space for living and sleeping, and then a separate shower room. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The multi-fuel stove is nice when it's cold.

Outside, there's a deck with a hot tub. It's private, and good for looking at the stars at night. The cabin is at the top of a small campsite, so there might be other people around, but you have your own bit.

The site has 23 acres to wander around. You'll see a lot of birds. There's a small shop on-site for basics. For a proper pub or a bigger shop, you need to drive to Caldbeck village. It's about five minutes away and has what you need.

You're well placed for the quieter northern fells if you want walking without the crowds. The Cumbrian coast is about twenty minutes' drive. Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall are within half an hour. The Lake District National Park site has walking routes. For local history, English Heritage has information on Hadrian's Wall.

Things you get: the hot tub, the stove, WiFi, TV, a washing machine, bedding and towels, parking, and you can charge an electric car. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring dogs, up to three.
