The Old Vicarage is in Westward, which is a small village about three miles from Wigton. It's a detached stone house, quiet and on its own. You're right on the edge of the Lake District National Park here. The views are over fields, no other houses in the way.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms upstairs, one family bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is clean and comfortable, but it's an old house so mind your head on some of the beams. The stairs are normal, not too steep.
The kitchen and bathroom are new. There's a wood burner in the living room, which is lovely on an evening. The garden is lawn with a patio and a table. You can sit out there with a drink.
Westward itself is tiny. There's a local pub you can walk to. For a shop or a cafe, you drive to Wigton or Caldbeck. Both are a few minutes in the car. Caldbeck has a good pub and a tea room.
You're well placed for the quieter, northern end of the Lakes. Bassenthwaite Lake and Skiddaw are about twenty minutes' drive. Keswick is half an hour. If you fancy the coast, Allonby is seventeen miles. Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall are within easy reach too, maybe twenty-five minutes.
What's here: Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking for two cars. Bedding and towels are included. We take up to two well-behaved dogs.
