Barn Owl Bothy is on our farm, Wallace Lane Farm, near a village called Brocklebank. It's up in the north of the Lake District, so it's quieter than the central bit.
It's a studio, so it's all one room. Sleeps two properly, and there's a small extra bed up a ladder in the eaves if you need it. One bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. We converted it from an old farm building a few years ago. It's clean and comfortable.
You get your own raised deck outside with a hot tub. It looks out over our land. We've got about 23 acres here. You'll see a lot of birds.
The farm is quite spread out. There are a few other holiday cottages here, but the Bothy is on its own. You won't be overlooked.
It's a good spot if you want to see the northern fells or the coast. Caldbeck village is a few minutes drive. They have a pub and a shop. The Solway coast is about a 17 mile drive. Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall are within half an hour.
In terms of things here: there's parking right outside, the bed is made up for you, towels are included. There's wifi and a TV. We have an electric vehicle charger. You can bring up to three dogs.
For planning, the Lake District National Park site is useful. So is English Heritage for Hadrian's Wall.
