The Curlew isn't a cottage. It's a pod. You might call it glamping. It's near a village called Brocklebank in Cumbria, on a small camping site with a lot of open space.
It sleeps four. There’s a double bed and one set of bunk beds, all in the same open-plan room. One bathroom with a shower. It's rated 4 Star. It’s clean and comfortable, but it's compact. The whole place is open plan, so there's no separate bedrooms.
The main doors are large and face out over the site. You can open them up if the weather's good. There's a TV, WiFi, and a kitchen with what you'd need. The garden bit is enclosed. You can park right next to it.
It's good for dogs, they allow up to three. It's also on the ground floor and the entrance is wheelchair accessible.
The location is quiet. It's on the northern edge of the Lake District National Park, so it's a bit away from the busier parts. The local fells are good for walking without the crowds. The coast is about a twenty minute drive.
The nearest village is Caldbeck, about three and a half miles. It has a shop, a pub, and a restaurant. Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall are half an hour or so away if you want history.
