The Beeches is in Kilnhill, which is a small place near Bassenthwaite Lake. It's a mid-terrace house, fairly big. Sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The stairs are normal. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room. One of the bathrooms has a bath with a view of the lake, which is nice.
Downstairs is mostly open plan. There's an open fire in the living room. A separate snug room if someone wants a bit of quiet. The sun room looks out onto the garden. The garden itself is enclosed, with a patio and a brick barbecue.
There's a utility room by the back door. Useful for boots and wet coats. You can fit a couple of bikes in there.
You can bring two dogs. The garden is fully enclosed so that's fine.
The Castle Inn pub is right across the road. They do food. They also have a leisure club with a pool, gym, and tennis courts. You can buy day passes from them directly if you want to use it.
Bassenthwaite Lake is about a 20 minute walk. The village of Bassenthwaite is about the same, they have a pub there too.
Keswick is about seven miles away. That's where you'll find the main shops, supermarkets, and the theatre by Derwentwater. Cockermouth is a similar distance the other way.
For walking, you're well placed. Skiddaw, Latrigg, Catbells, and Blencathra are all within a 30 minute drive. The Lake District Wildlife Park is just down the road, under a mile. The Lakes Distillery is nearby if you're interested in that sort of thing.
Everything you'd expect is here: wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking for two cars on the drive.
