Hey Down is a stone terrace house on Braithwaite Lane in Keswick. It's a terraced house, so you'll have neighbours, but you're right near the river and the back garden is enclosed. It looks out over the lane.
It sleeps five in three bedrooms. One double, one twin, and one single. There's one bathroom upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well turned out. It's comfortable and warm. There's a woodburner but it's not your main heating.
The entrance is wheelchair accessible into the living area, but the toilet and all bedrooms are upstairs. The stairs aren't too bad, but they're still cottage stairs.
You can walk into the centre of Keswick in about five minutes. You'll pass Fitz Park on the way. The local pub is maybe a two minute walk. The town has all the normal shops, some good outdoor gear places, pubs, and cafes.
You're about a ten minute walk from the launch point for the Derwentwater launches. For walks, you can start from the door. Latrigg is a good, straightforward climb with big views. For bigger days, Skiddaw and Blencathra are right there.
You're in a good spot for driving out too. Borrowdale is about a fifteen minute drive. The Whinlatter forest park is about ten minutes.
Facilities: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking for one car on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
