5 The Plosh
5 The Plosh is in the middle of Keswick. It's a traditional cottage, but we've done it all up inside. It's got two bedrooms and two shower rooms, so it's good for two couples or a family with older kids.
The layout is a bit different. You come in on the ground floor, which is the living room. That has patio doors out to a small balcony. Up a flight of stairs are the two bedrooms and the second shower room. Down another flight of stairs is the kitchen and dining area, with a door to the outside. The stairs between floors are spiral. They're not dangerous, but they're steep and a bit narrow. Just watch your step.
You're about a minute's walk from the market square. There's a shop, pubs, and restaurants literally 50 yards away. You don't need to drive for anything in town.
The cottage has got a wood burner, which is nice in the evening. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Wi-Fi, towels, bedding, all included. We can provide a cot if you need one.
Being in Keswick, you're right in the north lakes. Derwentwater is a ten minute walk. You can drive to Borrowdale or up to Skiddaw easily. The whole area is walkers' country.
For planning days out, the Lake District National Park Authority site is useful. The National Trust also looks after a lot of the land and houses around here.
