Acorn Lodge is in Burnside Park. That's just outside Keswick, maybe a ten minute walk from the town centre. It's a pine log cabin, one of a few on a quiet site.
The lodge sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean. The furniture is nice. It's all Ercol stuff, which is that classic design.
You get a private parking space right outside. The patio doors open onto a raised wooden deck. The view from there is the main thing. You're looking straight at Skiddaw and Latrigg, and you can see the Helvellyn range in the distance. There's a small brook just over the fence.
It's a good spot because you're out of the bustle but you can walk into Keswick easily. There's a pub and a cafe a few minutes away. Both are dog friendly and get good reviews for their food.
For facilities, you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding is included. There's a cot if you need one. Pets are welcome, up to two.
It's a straightforward base for the fells. Latrigg is right there for a walk. Keswick has the usual shops and places to eat. Derwentwater is a short drive or a longer walk.
