Doddick Beck is in Scales, up near Threlkeld and Keswick. It's a little stone cottage for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious. There are steps up to the front door.
The main thing is the view. You look straight out at Blencathra and the other fells. There’s a beck running through the garden. It's quiet, and you can start walking right from the door.
We get red squirrels around here. You'll probably see them in the trees. The cottage is next to Keswick Golf Club if you play.
There's a pub in Scales, about three quarters of a mile away. You can walk it across the fields in twenty minutes. Threlkeld village is a bit further, maybe a mile and three quarters on a footpath by the river. They've got two good pubs for food.
Keswick is five miles down the road. It's got all the shops, restaurants, and a theatre by the lake. If you want to go out on the water, Derwentwater is there. For walking, you're right at the foot of Blencathra. Skiddaw and Helvellyn aren't far either.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking, a TV, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. The cottage is all on one level and the entrance is step-free, which is handy.
If you're coming with more people, you can book the cottage next door, Scaley Beck, as well. Together they sleep six.
