Darci's Lodge
Darci's Lodge is in Scales, Cumbria. It's a detached lodge on a working sheep farm at the bottom of Blencathra. You get your own patio, which gets the sun most of the day.
The lodge sleeps two, all on one level. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a modern build, open plan downstairs with a kitchenette and sitting area. The bathroom has a good shower. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious.
You're right on the A66 between Penrith and Keswick. Keswick is about five miles away. That's where the main shops, pubs, and the theatre are. There's a pub about three quarters of a mile up the road in Scales for a pint. Keswick Golf Club is directly opposite the farm gate.
For walking, you're right there on the fells. Blencathra is the big one out the back. Skiddaw and Helvellyn are a short drive away if you want a bigger day. Keswick is a good starting point for hikes up Latrigg or around Derwentwater.
It's a working farm, so you'll see sheep. One well-behaved dog is welcome. The entrance is level, and there's parking right outside.
