The Rowans
The Rowans is our place in Keswick. It's a bungalow, semi-detached, on a quiet estate. You can walk into the town centre in about ten minutes, which is handy.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious. The garden is enclosed at the back, which is good if you've got a dog with you. The views from the garden are nice, you can see Latrigg and Skiddaw.
Facilities are straightforward: there's WiFi, a washing machine, parking right outside, and a cot if you need it. Bedding is included. We put up some Christmas decorations in December.
You're right in the north of the Lake District here. Derwentwater is a short drive or a decent walk from the house. For longer walks, you can start from the town or drive a little way out. The drive over Honister Pass to Buttermere is worth doing.
If you want to go further, places like Grasmere or Ullswater are within half an hour's drive. Useful links for planning: Lake District National Park and National Trust Lake District.
