Bridge Cottage
Bridge Cottage is in Braithwaite. It's the one over the little stream, right by the village shop. The shop is handy for milk and papers.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It’s a 3 Star place, so it’s comfortable and clean, not luxurious. The bedrooms look out at the fells.
You’ve got two pubs and the village hall cafe within a few minutes' walk. They all do food. The cottage has an open fire. We leave some wood for you to get started.
You can walk straight out of the front door and up onto the fells. Grisedale Pike and Causey Pike are right there. If you’re up for a big day, you can tackle the Coledale Horseshoe.
Keswick is about two and a half miles away. That’s where the big supermarket is, and the cinema, and the market on a Saturday. You can drive around Derwentwater or walk around it.
For a drive out, Bassenthwaite Lake is about fifteen minutes north. Or you can go over the Whinlatter Pass, which takes you into the forest. The Lake District National Park site has good walking routes.
Facilities: there’s a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for one car on the side of the cottage. Bedding is included. You can bring up to two dogs. There’s a cot available if you need it.
