This is Bridge Cottage, in Braithwaite. It's a proper Lakeland village cottage, which means it's not huge. It sleeps five in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom.
The cottage looks right out over the village beck. You can hear the water running. From the bedrooms upstairs you get a good view of the fells.
It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. There's an open fire for when it's cold. The stairs are steep. It's an old cottage.
You're right in the middle of the village. The local shop is just opposite. There are a couple of pubs that do food, they're about two minutes walk away.
If you're here to walk, you can start from the door. Grisedale Pike and Causey Pike are straight up from the village. For a bigger day out, the Coledale Horseshoe route is here too.
You can take up to two dogs. There's parking on site, which is handy. It has the basics: WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding is included. There's a cot if you need one.
Keswick is about three miles away for bigger shops. Bassenthwaite Lake is a ten minute drive. For other local things, the Lake District National Park site is useful. The National Trust looks after a lot of the land around here too.
