Shorley Lodge
Shorley Lodge is about two minutes on foot from Keswick town centre. It's a level walk, which is handy. The cottage is right opposite Fitz Park and the River Greta, so you look out over the water and the fells.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is done up nicely, and it feels spacious. You get a private garden, and parking for one car.
You really don't need your car if you don't want to use it. You can walk into Keswick for shops and pubs, and you're right on the edge of the fells for walking. Derwentwater is about a ten or fifteen minute walk away.
We take up to two well-behaved dogs. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
For planning days out, the National Trust Lake District site is useful, and so is the Lake District National Park site.
