Leatheswater
Leatheswater is in Legburthwaite, which is just outside of Keswick. It's a flat on the first floor of a large old house. You don't get the whole house to yourselves, it's part of a hotel, but the apartment is private. The main thing is the view from the big windows. You look right out over the gardens and down to Thirlmere.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything is in good order and it's kept clean. The bed is comfortable.
The house sits right at the bottom of Helvellyn. If you're walking it, you can start practically from the door. For something easier, there's a path that goes along Thirlmere. Keswick is about ten minutes in the car. They've got all the shops you need there, and a cinema. You can get boats out on Derwentwater or Windermere.
You're inside the Lake District National Park. Castlerigg Stone Circle is a five minute drive away. It’s worth seeing. For a longer trip, you can get over to the west coast, or up to Penrith, in under half an hour.
In the flat there's a dishwasher, wi-fi, and a TV. The towels and bedding are provided. There's parking right outside. No pets. The garden you see is the hotel's, but you can sit out on your own patio bit.
