High Rake is in Glenridding, right at the foot of Helvellyn. It's a stone terrace cottage, one of a few in a row. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's 3 Star, so it's clean and comfortable but not new or fancy.
The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the valley to the fells, Sheffield Pike and Birkhouse Moor. There's a stream that runs past the bottom of the garden.
You can walk onto the fells from the doorstep. Glenridding itself is a five minute walk down the hill. They've got a shop and a couple of pubs. You can hire boats on the lake there.
The Ullswater steamer leaves from the pier. It's worth doing a trip to Howtown or Pooley Bridge. Aira Force waterfall is a short drive or a decent walk away.
If you drive, Kirkstone Pass gets you to Ambleside and Windermere in about half an hour. Keswick is about the same in the other direction. You're right in the middle of everything here.
For facilities, there's parking for one car, WiFi, and all the bedding and towels are included. The kitchen has what you need. No pets.
