Brothersfield Cottage is in Hartsop, near Ullswater. It's a big, old stone house, detached. It was built around the 1700s. It sleeps ten, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms.
It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well equipped and comfortable. The house is right by Brotherswater, on the road between Ambleside and Ullswater. The views are what you'd expect round here: fells and water. It's a very good base for walking or biking. You're basically between the Helvellyn and High Street ranges, so footpaths start on the doorstep.
There's a pub that does food about half a mile down the road. The nearest proper shop is in Glenridding, about three miles away.
Ullswater is a short drive. You can get the steamer from Glenridding in the summer. Ambleside is six miles south for shops and cafes. Windermere is about fifteen miles, Keswick a bit further.
For facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, washing machine, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site, a garden, and we can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, sorry.
