Bank End

Bank End is in Glenridding, just up the lane from Ullswater. It’s a detached stone cottage, so you’ve got your own space and garden.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms. I know, three bathrooms for three bedrooms, it’s a bit unusual. But it means no queue in the morning. It’s a 4 Star property, so it’s comfortable and well kept.

You’re right in the village. There’s a shop about a hundred yards away for basics. The pub is a few minutes’ walk. The Ullswater Steamers landing stage is even closer, if you fancy a boat trip. You can get one all the way to Pooley Bridge.

For walking, you’re sorted. You can be on the lower slopes of Helvellyn in no time from the door. Striding Edge is up there if that’s your thing. Otherwise, the lake shore path is lovely for a gentler stroll.

Inside, there’s a wood burner in the lounge. It’s a good size room. The kitchen has a dishwasher and there’s a washing machine too. Parking for two cars on the drive. You can bring up to two dogs.

If you want to explore further, the whole of the Lake District is within reach. Keswick is about half an hour by car over the Kirkstone Pass.
