It’s Lorna’s At The Grange in Mosser, Cumbria. It’s a ground-floor apartment in a big old stone cottage, part of a 1600s building. The views from here are good, over fields towards Loweswater. You can just see the lake from the grounds.
It’s for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom with a shower. It’s a 3 Star, so everything works and it’s clean, but it’s not flashy. It’s all on one level and there’s a ramp to the entrance, so it’s accessible.
You’re about 600 yards from Loweswater lake itself. It’s a quiet lane down to it. That whole chain of lakes, Loweswater, Crummock, Buttermere, is right there. Good for a proper walk without having to drive first. The local pub is about two miles away, the Kirkstile Inn. They do food and their own beer.
Cockermouth is about seven miles. It’s a decent town for shops and cafes. The coast at St Bees is about half an hour’s drive. Keswick is roughly twenty minutes, over Whinlatter Pass. If you’ve got an electric car, there’s a charger here.
Inside, there’s a kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine, an open-plan living area, and the bedroom. Everything’s included, bedding, towels, the electricity. It’s part of a group of three cottages, so you can book it with the others if you’re a bigger group.
You can bring two dogs. There’s a garden and patio area, and parking right outside.
