High Mains
High Mains is in Winscales. It's a detached bungalow on our working farm. You're on your own bit though, it's private. The garden is big and enclosed, with proper lawn and decking. The view is straight out over the fields to the fells.
It sleeps eight, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. All on the ground floor. One bedroom has a kingsize bed and its own shower room. There's another kingsize, a double, and a twin room. Two more bathrooms, one with a bath. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well kept.
The living room is huge. Plenty of space for everyone. You can get out to the garden from there and from the kitchen.
The pub is about a five minute walk down the lane. It's decent.
Cockermouth is ten minutes away by car. It's a good market town. Wordsworth's house is there if you're interested. Keswick is about twenty-five minutes. You drive past Bassenthwaite Lake to get there. Loweswater, Crummock Water and Buttermere are all within a twenty minute drive for walking.
The west coast is about a fifteen minute drive if you want a different view. St Bees Head is good for a coastal walk.
Facilities wise: it's all on one level and wheelchair accessible. There's parking, wifi, a TV, a washing machine, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We've got bike storage. No pets, sorry.
