Market Place
This is Market Place in Workington. It's a townhouse, right in the centre. You're a minute's walk from the high street shops, pubs, and restaurants.
It sleeps four, but it's one bedroom and one bathroom. The double bedroom is on the top floor. The living room is on the middle floor, and that sofa converts into a double bed. The kitchen and a small dining area are on the ground floor. It's over three floors, so there are quite a few stairs.
It's a 3 Star place. That means it's clean, well-equipped, and good value, but not luxurious. Everything you need is there.
Being in the centre, it can be noisy on Friday and Saturday nights. You can hear music from the nearby bars. If you want a quiet countryside retreat, this isn't it. Sunday to Thursday is much quieter. If you're coming for a night out or don't mind a bit of buzz, the location is perfect.
You're very well placed for getting out. The coast is a short drive. Allonby beach is about 20 minutes north. St Bees and Whitehaven are about 25 minutes west. Cockermouth, a nice market town with good food shops, is 20 minutes away.
You can be in the Lake District proper in half an hour. Keswick is about 30 minutes. For a great drive, go via Loweswater, Crummock Water, and Buttermere. The scenery is fantastic.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine. No pets.
