The Mains is in Stainton. It's a Cumbrian village just outside Penrith. The cottage is detached and sits back off the road. You've got your own garden with a patio, it's a quiet spot.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well kept. Everything you need is there. The washing machine is in a utility room off the kitchen.
There's a local pub about a five minute walk away. They do food. For a bigger shop, you'd drive into Penrith, which is about three miles.
You're in a good spot for the northern Lakes. Ullswater is probably a 15 minute drive. You can get to Keswick or the M6 junction near Penrith in under half an hour.
For walking, you've got the Pennines on one side and the Lake District fells on the other. Lowther Castle is close by if you want a historic day out. The Eden Valley around here is gentle, good for cycling if you bring bikes. There's storage for them here.
Facilities: Parking for two cars on the drive. TV, towels and bedding are included. Everything's open plan downstairs. No pets, sorry.
