Cherry Tree Lodge

Cherry Tree Lodge is in Glen Dowlin. It's on one of those lodge parks, but it's detached. You're in the north of the Lake District, near Pooley Bridge.

It sleeps four. Two double bedrooms, both doubles, one has its own shower room. There's another family bathroom too. It was all done up a few years ago, so it's clean and modern inside. Everything's on one level, which is handy.

The main room is open plan. Patio doors open onto a decent sized balcony with a table and chairs. You look out over the park, which is quite leafy. There's parking right outside.

The local pub, which does food, is about a mile away. The nearest shop is in Pooley Bridge, three miles.

You're well placed for Ullswater. Pooley Bridge is a couple of minutes in the car. You can get the steamer from there down to Glenridding. The walking from here is good straight from the door, or you can drive a short way to proper mountain routes. It's a fishing area if that's your thing. There's a golf course nearby too.

For a bigger day out, Keswick is about half an hour's drive. Penrith is roughly the same.

Facilities: it's got a wood burner, TV, WiFi, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
