Skylark

Skylark is in Keswick. It's a house on a residential street, quiet but you can walk to the shops and the lake in a few minutes.

It's been recently done up, so everything is new. It sleeps five with three bedrooms. There are two shower rooms, one downstairs and one up. Both have underfloor heating. The stairs are standard.

You get a parking space right outside. The back garden is enclosed, which is handy if you have a dog. We take one small dog.

Inside, it's all there: a wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, and the kitchen has good appliances. There's a heated clothes rack, which is useful with the weather here. All bedding and towels are included. We leave a cot and highchair for you.

Keswick itself has everything you need: pubs, cafes, shops. Derwentwater is a five-minute walk. You can hire boats there, or just walk the path around it. For a good walk, Catbells is right there across the lake and is popular for a reason. The Theatre by the Lake is nice if you fancy a show.

Within a half-hour drive you've got a lot. Borrowdale is stunning. Thirlmere and the climb up Helvellyn if you're up for it. Aira Force waterfall is about twenty minutes away. Windermere town and lake is about half an hour's drive.
