Low Hollas Farmhouse is in the hamlet of Scales, near Threlkeld. It's an old farmhouse that's been done up. It sleeps ten people.
Five bedrooms, four bathrooms. Most of those bathrooms are ensuite showers. All bedding and towels are included.
The house is on a slope. One side looks directly at Blencathra, which is a big, steep mountain. The other side has a long view down the valley towards Keswick. You get both. The views are the main thing.
Inside, it's open plan downstairs. Big kitchen, dining table, and seating area with a woodburning stove. There's a separate utility room with a washing machine. Stairs are fine.
Outside, there's plenty of space. A few different seating areas and an undercover bit with a BBQ and another fridge. Good for if you're eating outside and the weather turns.
You can take up to two dogs. There's parking on site.
Threlkeld village is a short walk. It has a pub and a community shop. Keswick is about ten minutes by car. They've got all the shops, cafes, and a leisure centre there. Derwentwater is just outside Keswick; you can get on the lake or walk around it.
You're right at the foot of Blencathra for walking. The A66 road is close, so it's easy to get to Penrith one way or Cockermouth the other. Ullswater is about a twenty minute drive.
For planning days out, these are useful: Lake District National Park, National Trust Lake District, and English Lakes.
