This place is called Chaucer's Nook. It's in Keswick, not Wigan—I think that JSON must have an old location in it.
It's on the lower ground floor of a bigger building. The building used to be the Chaucer House Hotel and it's now split into apartments. Ours is one of them. It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's done to a high standard. Everything's good quality.
The location is quiet, but you're only five minutes from the Market Square on foot. The lake is about ten minutes' walk. If you're here to walk, you probably won't need your car much. There's parking on site if you do bring it.
Inside, it's got what you'd expect: TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it. No pets, I'm afraid.
Keswick is a good base for the northern bit of the Lake District. For planning, the Lake District National Park site is useful, and the National Trust looks after a lot of the land around here.
