Marstan House is in Wrightington, Lancashire. It's a semi-detached 1930s house. The front is garden-facing, which means you're not right on the road. There's plenty of off-road parking.
It sleeps five, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's not brand new, but it's solid and clean.
You get a decent sized, enclosed rear garden. Good for a barbecue, or if you're bringing your dogs. Speaking of which, we allow up to three pets.
A really useful thing is Derby House right next to it. They have a good café and a restaurant, plus a food hall with a local butcher. Useful if you don't feel like cooking. There are also a couple of pubs and restaurants in the village itself.
You're just off the M6, less than two miles from junction 27. That means you can get to a lot of places easily. Blackpool, with all its attractions like the Pleasure Beach and the zoo, is about 40 minutes by car. Liverpool, Manchester, and Lancaster are all within 45 minutes. The Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales are a bit over an hour's drive.
Closer to home, the Forest of Bowland and the Ribble Valley are a short drive away for nice walks and country pubs. Locally, Martin Mere Wetland Centre is good for families, and Haigh Hall Country Park has a large play area and plenty of woodland.
For facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, a cot, WiFi, and a TV. We have storage for bikes if you're bringing them. The shower is a walk-in one, and there are grab rails fitted.
