South Lodge Cottage
South Lodge Cottage is on Lodge Road, which is in Worthington. It's not really in Greater Manchester, it's more Wigan way. It's a detached bungalow, so it's all on one floor.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, which I think means it's well-kept. It's clean.
The main thing is the access to the walks. You have your own gate from the garden that goes straight into the grounds of the park. There are lakes, canals, that sort of thing. It's flat and easy. Very quiet, lots of green space.
There's a pub about 300 yards up the road. They serve food. The nearest shop is there too. It's just a village shop.
You can get into Manchester or Liverpool. It's about 30 minutes to either by car if the traffic's alright. Manchester has all the city things. Liverpool has the waterfront.
If you want to stay local, there are a few golf courses nearby, all within a couple of miles. The West Pennine Moors are close for a decent hike.
Facilities wise: there's parking right outside, Wi-Fi, a TV, and all your bedding and towels are included. The garden is just a small patio area with a gate.
