The Restored Cottage is in Heskin Green in Lancashire. It's a detached thatched cottage from the 1600s. It's been restored, so it's old but everything works.
It sleeps six people, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps with a group. One has a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating.
There's a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen is open plan and has bi-fold doors that open onto the lawn. The garden is enclosed and gets the sun in the evening. There's parking.
You've got a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. The property is wheelchair accessible at the entrance. Sorry, no pets.
For things to do: Chorley market town is about 15 minutes by car. Rivington Pike is a good walk about half an hour away, the view from the top is worth it. Southport is 30 minutes drive if you want a traditional seaside day. Blackpool is about 40 minutes.
You can get to Liverpool, Manchester, or Lancaster in under an hour. The Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales National Parks are just over an hour's drive.
