Priory Barn

Priory Barn is outside Ring o' Bells, a small village in Lancashire. It's a converted barn, so it's detached and feels quite solid out here. You've got your own garden and the views are fields and countryside.

It sleeps seven people. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms. Each bedroom has its own shower, so that's useful. It has a 4 Star rating, so it's well equipped and comfortable. They've kept a lot of the original features, like the beams and stone walls. There's a big barn door and cartwheel windows up in the bedrooms. The living room has a wood burner for colder nights. The space is big but it still manages to feel cosy.

The stairs to the galleried landing are proper barn conversion stairs. They're there, but they're steep.

A pub that serves food is about fifteen minutes' walk away. You're right on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, so you can step out the door and go for a walk or a cycle along there. Burscough is two miles away for shops. They have Burscough Wharf there which has arts and crafts and food stalls.

Ormskirk is about ten minutes away by car. It's a market town with the usual shops and places to eat. Southport is roughly half an hour's drive. It's a Victorian seaside town with a sandy beach and a pier. They have events like the Air Show and the Flower Show.

Further out, you can get into Manchester or to the Trafford Centre in under an hour. The Lake District is just over an hour's drive north.

In terms of what's here: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, a cot and highchair if you need them, and bedding and towels are included. There's a BBQ in the garden. Sorry, no pets.
