Burnside Park
Burnside Park is up near the bottom of Latrigg, just outside Keswick. It's a pine log cabin. They've done all the landscaping around the site, so it's tidy.
The cabin is solid. It takes six people. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a three star rating, which seems about right. It's comfortable and has the things you need. The big thing is the view. You get a clear look across the valley at Skiddaw and the other fells from the front. There's a balcony over a stream at the back.
You can walk into Keswick town centre. It's not far. It's handy because you can go for a meal or to the shops without having to drive and find a parking space.
For walking, you're spoiled. You can step right out onto the fells from here. Latrigg is basically on your doorstep. Keswick is a good hub, with Derwentwater and Catbells nearby. Lake District National Park has all the maps and routes if you want to plan ahead.
For a drive out, Borrowdale is ten minutes away. Ullswater is about twenty minutes. You're not far from the A66 if you want to head over to Penrith or up towards Carlisle.
Inside, it's got WiFi, a dishwasher, washing machine. All the bedding and towels are there. There's a cot if you need one. Parking is right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
