Little Hills
This is 'Little Hills', my place in Keswick. It's a three-floor terrace house, right near the middle of town.
It sleeps five people. Three bedrooms and a bathroom. The bathroom is on the first floor and has a bath and a separate shower. The bedroom on the top floor has nice views out over the fells.
You’re about five minutes walk from the shops and the pubs. Just a bit further on, you’ll hit Derwentwater. You can walk the lake path or get on one of the boats. The launch is about a ten minute stroll.
The house is all on three floors, so the stairs are fairly typical for a place like this. They’re not spiral, but they are steep. The kitchen has what you need, and there’s a washing machine and dishwasher. There's a small enclosed patio area out the back.
It's a 4 Star rated place. That means it's well-equipped and comfortable. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car.
For walks, you can just step out the door. For planning, the Lake District National Park site is useful, and the National Trust has lots on the local houses and fells.
Things like the theatre, a golf course, and horse riding are close by. You can drive to places like Borrowdale or Buttermere in about 15 or 20 minutes.
