Chainbridge Cottage

Chainbridge Cottage is in Ruswarp, which is two miles upstream from Whitby. It's a two-bedroom cottage right on the River Esk. You get the garden to yourselves, and it's enclosed.

The cottage sleeps four. Both bedrooms are doubles. One has an en-suite shower room, and there’s a family bathroom upstairs too. It's got a 4 Star rating. It’s comfortable and clean.

The garden goes right down to the riverbank. There's a deck with seating. You'll see herons, and sometimes a kingfisher. The heritage steam train from the North York Moors Railway runs past a few times a day. It's not loud, but you'll hear it.

You can walk into Whitby along the river path. It takes about twenty minutes. In Ruswarp, there's a local shop, a good butcher, a riverside cafe, and a pub.

Within half an hour's drive you've got the North York Moors for walking, and Robin Hood's Bay along the coast. The North York Moors National Park website is useful for planning. For local history, Whitby Abbey is the main site.

Facilities wise: there's parking, a washing machine, a woodburner, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
