This is Ocean Cottage in Whitby. It's in a yard just off Church Street, which is the main street up to the Abbey. It’s a terraced fisherman’s cottage, built in the early 1700s.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. The cottage is on four floors. Kitchen and diner on the ground floor, living room on the first floor, and the bedrooms are on the second and third floors. The stairs are steep and a bit narrow, because it's an old cottage.
You're right in the middle of things. There are pubs, restaurants, and shops on your doorstep. The beach is a few minutes' walk away. Whitby’s a good base for the coast and the moors.
For walking, you’ve got the Cleveland Way along the cliffs. The North York Moors are close by. You can get on the steam train from Whitby station to go across the moors to Grosmont and Pickering. There’s a sandy beach in Whitby, and other coastal towns like Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes are a short drive away.
Included facilities: WiFi, TV, washing machine, bedding and towels. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them. We take up to two dogs. There is a stairgate.
