Cobblestones is in the middle of Whitby's old town, on Church Street. It's a three-storey fisherman's cottage from 1785, so it's on the steep bit. You look out onto the cobbles.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating. It was done up recently, so it's got a proper kitchen and bathrooms, but we kept the old beams and the character. The stairs are winding and quite steep, which is normal for these cottages.
You're right in it here. The harbour and the swing bridge are just there. The 199 steps up to the abbey are at the top of the street. Tate Hill Sands beach is less than a minute's walk. There's a shop about ten yards away and a pub about twenty. You don't need to drive once you're parked.
The windows are original single-glazed wood, which the listing requires. You can hear the street, which is busy in season. The views from the front rooms are good, straight down Church Street.
For days out, you've got the North York Moors on the doorstep. The North York Moors National Park site has walking routes. The steam railway from Whitby goes to Grosmont and Goathland. Robin Hood's Bay is about ten minutes by car.
What's here: WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to three dogs. There's no dedicated parking, but there are public car parks a short walk away.
