This is Nans Cottage in Whitby. It's right in the old town, about a minute's walk from Tate Hill Sands beach. You go down the cobbled lane to get to it.
It sleeps four, across two bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, both with walk-in showers. It's got a 4 Star rating. The floors are flagstone throughout, which keeps it cool in summer but you might want slippers in winter.
The living room is open plan with a gas stove. Upstairs there's a second sitting room with a sofa bed and a TV. That room and the main bedroom on the top floor have a direct view out over the beach, the piers, and the sea. You can watch the boats from the window.
It's all on-site parking for one car, which is important in Whitby. There's an electric vehicle charger. We allow one well-behaved dog.
You're amongst it all there. The pubs, cafes, and the little shops are right outside. The 199 steps up to the Abbey are a few minutes' walk away. For a longer walk, the Cleveland Way coastal path runs right past the town.
If you fancy a trip out, Robin Hood's Bay is about fifteen minutes by car. The North York Moors National Park is inland. You can get a steam train from Pickering or Grosmont, which is about a twenty-minute drive away.
