Nobles Cottage is in Whitby, in the old town. The beach - Tate Hill Sands - is about a minute's walk from the front door. It's built where the old smoke houses used to be, where they used to cure fish.
It sleeps seven, in three bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which is handy for a bigger group. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well equipped and comfortable.
You come in into the kitchen, which is open to the dining area. The main living room is separate, with a gas fire. There's also a toilet on the ground floor. Upstairs, there's a second sitting room with a great view of the harbour and the sea. It's got a TV and an Xbox. On that floor there's a kingsize bedroom with sea views and a twin room, plus a family bathroom with a bath and a separate shower. Up another floor is the third bedroom, which has a kingsize bed, a single bed, and really good views over the town.
You can watch the boats from a few of the windows. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase, so they're a bit steep in parts.
Out and about, you're right in the middle of the old town. There are pubs, cafes, and shops along the cobbled streets. The 199 steps up to the Abbey start close by. The Whitby Abbey site is managed by English Heritage. Captain Cook is a big part of the history here too.
If you want to explore, Robin Hood's Bay is about a 15 minute drive south. The North York Moors National Park authority has good information on walks. You can get the steam train from Whitby into the moors. Staithes and Runswick Bay are also within half an hour.
Facilities include a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for one car on site. There's an electric vehicle charger. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. Sorry, no pets.
