Nobles Cottage
Nobles Cottage is in Whitby, on the east side of the harbour. It's about 150 yards from Tate Hill Sands beach. The cottage is built on an old smoke house site.
It sleeps seven in three bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which is useful. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are standard cottage stairs, a bit tighter than a modern house.
The main living room is on the ground floor with a gas stove. Upstairs on the first floor there's a second sitting area they call the snug. It has good views of the beach and the piers. There's a TV and an Xbox up there too. One double and one twin bedroom are on that floor. The main family bedroom is on the top floor. It has a double and a single bed and the best views over the town and sea.
You can see a fair bit from the windows: boats going in and out, people walking along the west cliff. The view changes with the tide.
Whitby's old town hasn't changed much. You walk down the cobbled streets past cafes and shops to get to the cottage. The history is the main thing here, from Captain Cook to the lifeboat museum. The Abbey is up the 199 steps. The Dracula connection brings a lot of people, especially for the Goth weekends. The North York Moors National Park starts just outside town. You can get the steam train from Grosmont into the park. Coastal places like Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes are a short drive away.
Facilities: there's parking for one car, an electric vehicle charger, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. A cot, highchair and stairgate are there if you need them. No pets.
