Sayers Yard
Sayers Yard is in Whitby, up by the west cliff. It's an old place, spread over three floors. You come in on the ground floor to the kitchen and living area, all open plan. It's got a sofa, TV, and the kitchen has what you need.
Up the stairs is a twin room and the bathroom. Then there's another staircase up to the main bedroom in the attic. It's a good size up there. Be aware, the staircase is a wooden spiral one. It's solid, but it's narrow and steep. Just so you know.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place. It's got character with the beams and such. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
There's a pub about fifty yards away. For a proper shop or a restaurant, it's about a mile into the centre. The beach is a mile too, but it's a nice walk down.
Obviously, you've got the Abbey. It's the big thing on the cliff. The English Heritage site has all the details for visiting. The Captain Cook Museum is down in the old town if that's your interest.
For a longer drive, you could go to Robin Hood's Bay, which is about twenty minutes south. Or go onto the North York Moors. The National Park website is good for routes.
What's here: TV, bedding and towels are included, there's heating, and parking is on the street outside. There's a washing machine.
