Flagstaff Cottage is in Robin Hood's Bay. It's right in the middle of the old village. You can walk to everything.
It's a tall, end-terrace cottage that used to be a fisherman's house. Four floors. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Sleeps six. It's a 4 Star, which means it's comfortable and well looked after.
The stairs are steep and narrow going all the way up. That's just how these old cottages are.
The living room is on the first floor. It leads out to a small private patio with a table and chairs. There's also a little rockery garden. You get the use of that whole space.
The beach is two minutes walk down the hill. It's about 90 yards. The slipway and rock pools are just there. You don't need the car.
A pub and a restaurant are 200 yards away. The village shop is similar.
The coastal path is literally outside the door. You can walk for miles along the cliffs. The North York Moors National Park starts right behind the village.
Whitby is about seven miles away. That's where the Abbey is, and the harbour. Scarborough is about fourteen miles down the coast in the other direction. Both are easy drives.
As for the house, it's got a washing machine, WiFi, TV, parking for one car on site. Bedding is included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets allowed, sorry.
For planning walks or days out, the National Trust for York and the North East website is useful.
