The Endeavour is on The Flask Holiday Park just outside Fylingthorpe. It's a modern lodge, detached, with two bedrooms. It sleeps six, but that's using the sofa bed in the living area. If you'd rather not use that, it's more comfortable for four.
It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's clean and in good order. The layout is open plan, so the kitchen, dining and sitting area are all one space. There's an electric stove that looks like a wood burner for some atmosphere. The main bedroom has its own toilet, and then there's a separate shower room.
The holiday park is quiet. The main benefit is the view over the moors to the sea. There's a bar and restaurant on site, and a small shop for basics. They've also got a laundrette with some books and DVDs you can borrow.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors. The coastal path is a short drive away. Robin Hood's Bay is about five miles, a proper old fishing village built into the cliff. Whitby is about nine miles north, with the Abbey and the harbour. To the south, you've got Ravenscar and Scarborough.
If you've got kids, or if you're just into it, the theme parks like Flamingo Land are about an hour's drive. Dalby Forest is closer, maybe 40 minutes, for mountain biking and walking trails.
Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. The TV is there. Parking is right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
