The Cottage is up at Lind Head in North Yorkshire. It's on a working farm inside the National Park and the views from the front are really good. It's a wing of a bigger house, so we're next door. You won't see us much though, we're just on the other side of the wall.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean but not fancy. The beds are made up for you and there are towels.
It's a farm, so it can be muddy and there are animals about. You might hear us. You can buy fresh eggs from us if you like.
The kitchen has what you need. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and a woodburning stove for the evenings. Outside there's a patio and garden for you to use, with a barbecue. You can park right there.
We allow two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you're bringing little ones.
The coast is about three miles away. Robin Hood's Bay is close for a proper beach day. The pub is a mile and a half down the lane, the shop is three miles. Horse riding is available locally if you book ahead.
For walking, you're right in the North York Moors National Park. The Cleveland Way National Trail runs along the coast nearby. National Trust has a few places along the coast too, like Ravenscar. Whitby is about a twenty minute drive for the Abbey and the harbour. Scarborough is maybe forty minutes.
That's about it.
