The Barn
The Barn is in Harwood Dale, on the land of our working sheep farm. We live next to it, in the house. We converted it from an old hay barn a few years ago.
It sleeps ten, with five bedrooms. Each room has its own bathroom. We know that’s useful for groups. All the bedrooms are upstairs.
The biggest windows face south, looking out over the dale. It’s just fields and trees. There’s a wood burner in the main living area. The stairs go up to a small reading area that looks down over the room.
You have your own enclosed garden and patio. There’s parking for a few cars right by the door.
The nearest shop and pub are about three or four miles away in Fylingthorpe. For a bigger shop, you’d go to Scarborough. That’s where the main beaches are, South Bay and North Bay. Whitby is about a twenty-minute drive up the coast.
We’re inside the North York Moors National Park. Dalby Forest is a short drive away for walking and cycling. You can get information on walks from the National Park Authority.
For a day out, York is under an hour’s drive. If you want to visit, there’s information on the City of York Council website.
We allow up to two dogs. They have their own shower room in the utility area, which is handy for cleaning them off.
Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair. Bedding and towels are provided. The property has a 4 Star rating.
