The Barn is on our sheep farm in Harwood Dale. It's in the North York Moors National Park. It's a big, detached place we converted from an old hay barn. It looks out over the dale.
It sleeps ten people. There are five bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-finished. The stairs up to the galleried reading area are a standard flight.
You're on a working farm, so you'll see sheep. The garden is enclosed. Because it's a farm, we've put in a proper dog shower room in the utility area. It's really just a tiled room with a showerhead and drain, but it's handy for cleaning muddy dogs. We accept up to two pets.
The living room has a wood burner. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.
For a shop or a meal out, you need to drive. The nearest pub is about three miles. The nearest proper shop is about four.
You're well placed for the coast. Scarborough is the closest, about a 15-minute drive. Whitby and Filey aren't much further. All the details for the National Park are on the North York Moors National Park website. Dalby Forest is nearby for walking and cycling.
If you want a day trip, you can get to York in under an hour. Useful links for planning: National Trust York and Welcome to Yorkshire.
