Apple Tree House

Apple Tree House is in Scarborough, on a quiet street with trees. It's a semi-detached house, sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. You get the back garden to yourselves, it's enclosed with a lawn. One well-behaved dog is allowed.

The stairs are a bit steep, just so you know. The master bedroom has a wardrobe. One of the other rooms has bunk beds and a TV with a DVD player built in. The kitchen has what you need, like a dishwasher and washing machine. It leads into an extension room that goes out to the garden. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car on the drive.

It's about a five-minute walk to the North Bay beach. There's a shop about 200 yards away, and a pub and restaurant about 300 yards. They're fine for basics.

Just around the corner is Peasholm Park. It's a nice park with a lake where you can hire boats. They sometimes do model naval battles in the summer. The open-air theatre is there too. The Alpamare waterpark is about a ten-minute walk away. It's got slides and pools.

You can walk along Marine Drive between the North and South Bays. The castle is on the headland between them. North Bay is usually quieter. The Sea Life Centre is at that end.

If you want to go further, Whitby is about a 40-minute drive up the coast. Filey and Flamborough Head are south, within about half an hour. For walking, the North York Moors aren't far. North York Moors National Park has good information. For local history, Scarborough Castle is run by English Heritage.
