Aysgarth Lodge is a barn conversion in Seamer, near Scarborough. It's a five-star place, which means it's finished to a high standard. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The main living area is open plan. There's a wood burner in the corner. The kitchen's well-equipped. Outside, there's a large, enclosed garden with a patio and a hot tub.
The garden is secure, so it's fine for a dog. We accept one pet.
You're in a village, but not isolated. There's a local pub that does food about 200 yards away. A small supermarket, a post office, and a very good fish and chip shop are all within a short walk. There's a garden centre with a cafe about a mile away.
Scarborough's about four miles off. You've got the two bays there, the castle, and all the usual seaside things. For beaches, Cayton Bay and Filey are close. Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay are a bit further, maybe a 40-minute drive.
For walking and cycling, you're well placed. The North York Moors National Park and the Cleveland Way are on the doorstep. Dalby Forest is about a 20-minute drive inland, with good mountain bike trails and walks.
If you're interested in birds, the RSPB Bempton Cliffs reserve is roughly half an hour up the coast. The market towns of Pickering and Malton are about a 30-minute drive away.
Facilities include parking, WiFi, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are provided.
