This is Dragon Fly Cottage in Brompton by Sawdon. It's one of a few cottages on our working farm, so you might see some sheep or tractors about. The views are all fields.
The cottage itself is old, from the 1800s. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. The downstairs is open plan. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well kept. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings.
The village is quiet. There's a shop you can walk to in five minutes. The local pub is about two and a half miles away, so you'd need to drive or get a taxi.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Thornton le Dale and Pickering are a short drive away. From Pickering you can get the steam train onto the moors. Whitby and Scarborough are both about half an hour by car if you want the coast.
For things to do: Dalby Forest is close by for walking or cycling. There's golf and fishing nearby too. The property details mention it's a historic area for aeronautics and where Wordsworth got married, if that's of interest.
Facilities wise: there's parking, a washing machine, WiFi, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
