Wheatsheaf Cottage is at Granary Farm, up on the edge of the North York Moors. It's one of a few cottages here, converted from old farm buildings. The gardens are big and the whole place is quiet. It's a bungalow, so everything's on one level.
It's for two people. One bedroom with its own shower. The rating's four star, so it's well looked after. You can bring one dog.
You're a mile from Sawdon village, which has a pub. There's a good shop and an award-winning butcher a bit further on in Brompton. The nearest proper supermarkets are in Scarborough or Pickering.
For getting out, you can walk or cycle straight into the forest from the gate. The North York Moors National Park site has walking routes. The Raptor Viewpoint for watching birds of prey is a short drive. At night, because there's not much light, you can see a lot of stars.
Scarborough and Whitby are about twenty minutes by car. Pickering, with its steam railway, is maybe fifteen. York, Castle Howard, and Helmsley are all within a half hour drive. The North Yorkshire Water Park is close by if you want to try that.
What's here: there's a patio with a barbecue, a garden area, parking right outside, WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. Bicycle storage if you need it.
