Mill Barn is in East Ayton, which is about ten minutes from Scarborough. It’s basically a barn conversion. It’s got a big enclosed garden at the front, and the back looks straight out onto fields. The neighbours are sheep.
It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, which is handy. It’s all on one level so there are no stairs. There’s a ramp from the driveway to the front door. The main room is open plan: kitchen, dining table, sofas. There are big glass doors that open onto a deck, so it’s light. There’s a log burner for cooler evenings.
The village is half a mile away. There’s a shop at the garage, a post office, and a chemist. Two pubs do food. There’s a decent fish and chip shop. For a bigger shop, Scarborough is nearby.
You can walk straight from the door into Forge Valley and Raincliffe Woods, which is a nature reserve. It’s good for that.
Scarborough has the castle, the two bays, and Peasholm Park. For days out, Pickering is about twenty minutes away; you can get the steam railway from there to Whitby. Dalby Forest is in that direction too, for cycling and walking. Flamingo Land is maybe half an hour’s drive.
Stuff that’s here: the garden is fully enclosed. There’s parking. There’s underfloor heating, a washing machine, a dishwasher, wifi, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. It is wheelchair accessible. You can bring up to two dogs.
