Mill Barn
Mill Barn is in East Ayton, just outside Scarborough. It's a converted barn, so it's all on one level. That makes it good if stairs are a problem. There's a ramp from the driveway to the front door.
It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, each with its own TV, and three bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have zip and link beds, so you can have them as twins or super kings. Just let us know before you arrive.
It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and comfortable. There's a wood burner in the main living area, which is open plan with the kitchen. Big glass doors open onto a deck overlooking the garden. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you have dogs or kids. There are fields behind the property, so you'll see sheep.
The village is about half a mile away. There's a shop at the garage, a post office, a chemist, and two pubs that do food. There's also a very good fish and chip shop.
For walks, you can go straight from the door into Forge Valley Nature Reserve or Raincliffe Woods. Thornton-le-Dale and Pickering are pretty villages nearby. In Pickering you can get the North York Moors Railway to Whitby.
Scarborough is about ten minutes in the car. It's got the castle, two beaches, and the Sea Life Centre. If you drive for half an hour you can get to Dalby Forest, Flamingo Land, or Castle Howard.
Facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and an electric vehicle charger. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking on site.
