Corn Stook
Corn Stook is one of the cottages at Granary Farm, up on the moors. It's a single storey place, so no stairs to worry about. Just a bedroom and a bathroom, so it's really just for two people.
The cottage is detached, so it's quiet. You've got your own little patio area out the front. Inside, it's simple. There's a wood burner, which is nice in the evenings. The rating is 4 Star, which means it's comfortable and everything works.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park here. You can walk or cycle straight from the door into the forest. The gardens are big and people often see birds of prey. If you want to look for them properly, the Raptor View Point is a short drive away. At night, because it's so remote, the stars are very clear.
The village of Sawdon is about a mile away for the pub. For shops, you'd go to Brompton, which is three miles. They have a good butchers there. Pickering is close too, that's where the North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam trains are.
You can drive to Scarborough or Whitby on the coast in under half an hour. Malton is a market town about twenty minutes away. For a bigger day out, York is about an hour's drive. Castle Howard is also within easy reach.
In terms of what's here: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. There's bike storage if you need it. Sorry, no pets.
