Bickley School House is in Langdale End. It's a detached house, used to be a village school. There's an annexe next door you can book separately if you've got a bigger group.
It sleeps six, across three bedrooms. Two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. It's been refurbished so things like the kitchen are modern, but a lot of the original character is still there.
The garden is enclosed, good if you're bringing a dog. We accept one pet. There's parking.
It's very rural. The nearest pub is about five miles away. The nearest shop is eight miles. You'll want to bring what you need or be prepared to drive. That's the trade-off for the peace and quiet.
The house is on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. You step outside into woodland walks. Dalby Forest is practically on the doorstep. It's very good for mountain biking if that's your thing, or just for a decent walk. You can pay to do the Dalby Forest Drive in the car if you want to see the views without the effort.
Scarborough is about a twenty-minute drive. Whitby is maybe forty minutes. Both have proper beaches. York is under an hour if you fancy a day out in the city. Flamingo Land is about half an hour away.
Inside, it's got what you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a highchair if you need one.
